Release the Stigma: It’s OK to Check In!
May 11, 2021
Yesterday was a “self-care” and self “check-in” day for me:
💫💫 I had mental health therapy.
💫💫 It felt both good and scary to begin to process past trauma that’s been overshadowed by “busyness” for years!
💫💫 Talked with three of my five mentees and ALL of them helped RAISED MY VIBRATION in their amazing individual ways! I was already in GREAT spirits and each of them made me even happier with their awesome energy!
💫💫 Meditation in the sauna was absolutely wonderful. I’ve learned thats one way for me to quickly get aligned and routinely STAY in alignment!
Why do I vulnerably share this? 🤔
Well, I’m so glad you asked! 😁
❤️❤️ I’ve always been transparent about my mental health journey. I’m a mental health advocate just as much as I am a trans advocate. For me, both work simultaneously. If sharing my journey helps just one person, life is grand. 😊
❤️❤️ May is #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth.
❤️❤️ Research shows that #Veterans have a higher rate of mental health related illnesses such as depression and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) than non-veterans.
❤️❤️ Transgender veterans have a higher rate of suicidal ideation than that of non-veterans.
So it’s personally vital that I check in and “check in” often to make sure “I’m ok.” 👌🏼
And, it’s important for YOU too. 💯
✅ It’s ok to “check in.”
✅ Mental health is just that, mental health.
✅ Take care of your mind just as you take care of your body and you’re spirit.
